Its March 14th (3.14) my favorite nerdy but delicious holiday! Hope you treated yourself to some pie! I attempted my first rhub-apple pie tonight (that's rhubarb + apple for all you non-pie connoisseurs) which is basically a mash up of my 2 favorite pie types. It was spectacular.

I'm a long time fan of the Cook's Illustrated vodka pie crust recipe (thanks Nick Vallo!) and mixed a few filling recipes to end up with something like this:


Rhub-Apple Pie

3 cups rhubarb, chopped
2 apples, chopped
1 cup sugar
1 small lemon (just the juice)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3 tbs flour
