Have you ever wanted to see a desert waterfall that cascades down into the pacific ocean? I didn't know I did, but apparently lots of people do, because this crazy beautiful hike is crazy crowded.
Most of the trail to Alamere Falls is pretty low key, not a ton of elevation gain or loss, with great views of the ocean. Be warned though, the last little bit (a quarter of a mile or so) goes through a terrifying tunnel full of poison oak, and then down a steep cliff of breakable shale rock.... sooooo yeah. I may have had some poison oak paranoia that lasted for most of the day until we got home and showered off (2 days later and I'm still itch free, so I think we're in the clear). Totally worth it though.
