For most of the Thanksgiving holiday break, Cary and I headed down to Mexico for warmer climates and climbing. We stayed the first night of our trip within the city limits of Monterrey, in the neighborhood of San Pedro Garza García (based on a recommendation from a friend who grew up there).

The Airbnb was in a fairly quiet spot with lots of little restaurants nearby, and was only a 15 minute Uber ride from Parque La Huasteca where we did a bit of hiking (more on that in another post). While we were in town, the conversion rate was about 20 pesos per US dollar, so a quick jaunt like that only set us back $3 or so.
