Took a flight out to Rainier today to check out snow levels in a few areas for a potential ski trip tomorrow morning. Now that the snow is less dependable (aka, melting rapidly in the crazy heat), it's awesome to be able to check conditions out for a bunch of spots from the air before we hike for hours with skis on our back.
Beautiful views, but quite a bit of turbulence coming around the northwest side of the mountain. I know there's no real danger, and Cary's practiced in much worse, but it definitely makes your stomach do loops when you're in a tiny plane, bouncing around right above a bunch of steep valleys. EEP.
