Cary LOVES aquariums. So for our anniversary, I got us a special trip to the Seattle Aquarium, where you get to have breakfast and a private tour behind the scenes before the aquarium opens. Our host was super knowledgeable, and early in the morning all the animals are super active. Apparently anyone walking around that early is usually feeding them, so even the fish are super attentive, so cool! Our tour ended just as the aquarium opened, and the usual crowds rushed in. Really made me appreciate how cool it was to experience the animals close up without a ton of people around, definitely a lot more like seeing them in the wild.
Our favorite new fact we learned was about the Halibut. Did you know they're born with eyes on either side of their head (like a normal fish) and then as they mature, one of the eyes slides across their skull so that they have two eyes on one side? Weird right?!
