On day four of our trip, we headed to Yoho National Park, and hiked the 11 kilometers out to the Elizabeth Parker Hut.
It was -16 F when we left the parking lot in the morning, one of the coldest hikes of my life, and the longest hike on skis I've ever done, but totally worth it. The surrounding mountains were so pretty, and we were lucky enough to have clear skies for most of the first day we were there. The huts are equipped with gas lights/stove/oven, an outhouse a short walk away, and have awesome wood burning stoves for heat. Between the 2 cabins there's enough room to sleep 20ish people, and all the spots were full the first night we got in. I couldn't believe how full it was for a random mid-week date in winter, definitely glad I paid the $38 to become an ACC member so I could book way in advance.
