Inspired by our east coast trip to really take advantage of our amazing wild places close to Seattle, we decided we should try a little post work hike. Except Cary and I are bonkers, so we decided as we drove away from the city that we should do Mailbox Peak, which is not little at all. 4,000 ft of gain over 2.5 miles, by far the steepest hike I’ve ever attempted. We felt like we were dying most of the way up, but as things leveled out with 1,000 ft to go I started to get really excited that we might actually finish it!! That burst of stoke powered us to the top, just in time for sunset views of the surrounding mountains and a tiny Seattle skyline. It was so pretty, even Cary got out his phone for a few pictures (whhhhaaa?!) :)
